Here Comes the Bride...N THe Media Frenzy Starts!!

What's the hottest gossip news in town? Of cos it's the Liz Hurley wedding to Indian multi-millionaire businessman Artun Nayar.

Oh talking abt indians, let me side-track a little.. I need to report a case of ABNs on the loose on Sunday afternoon!! A whole bunch of them dancing & frolicking in NTU campus, HALF NAKED!!! N Rolled in Mud! eeks...Sorie..I'm a little biased against Banglas (a.k.a ABNs courtesy of my bro - Ah Bu Nehs) Broad daylight!! Dancing & frolicking half naked, and rolled in mud!! Imagine! Ok, some of u might ask - Maybe it's their colour, not mud. But rest assured! I have examined & concluded that it's mud on their bodies. Evidence - The ground appeared to be dug up, I'm sure they wore pants or shorts & their pants or shorts r also the same colour (light-brown), and lastly, mud is light brown not dark brown.

Ok stop the racism. Back to case in point. The lavish wedding of the year! Liz Hurley & Artun Nayar (41 vs 42 years old). Now why is it that celebrities always get to hook up with millionaires, billionaires, tycoons? How lavish is their wedding? Absurdly lavish! The amount they spent on the wedding is enough for my whole lifetime spending!! Show me the money! & I can quit my job but still live comfortably for the rest of my life!! Damn those rich people.

Let's go step by step through their wedding venues (cos we r sure to be lost) Yes that's right, they do not stop at just 1 church!

1st stop - Married in Sudedley Castle in the Cotswolds. Take a look at this castle! How magnificent! Getting married in a castle! That's so fairytale!! Damn, that's like every ladies' dream!

2nd stop - Blessing in a local church. No mention of name, can't search for the picture but i'm sure it is no small church. It has to be grand grand grand!

3rd stop - Fly to india to continue the wedding. Yes it does not just stop in England. They just have to continue in india (cos the groom is indian). And guess what, it's not just a 1 day event. It is 5 days of celebration!! Crazy people! 5-day Hindu traditional ceremony. Omigod! 1 wedding is already a bomb, they're going to hold a 5-day wedding! So let's take a mind trip down the list of places they're going to be

1st stop - Nothing fantastic, just a family gathering

2nd stop - Umaid Bhavan Palace, the former home of the Maharaja of Jodhpur. Behold the grand palace!

Palace again!! Ok this is the place they (the couple) are going to be staying in during the length of their wedding. The cost of 1 night stay (cheapest) is USD 435 for single occupancy. The couple? Surely they're going for the Maharani Suite which is USD 4K!

"Taj Umaid Bhawan Palace at Jodhpur is one of the largest and grandest private residences in the world. The palace was built by 3000 artisans worked over 14 years. The palace consumed one million square feet of the finest marble. "

Mehrangarh Fort - Another party venue for the wedding. Nice place for a party. On a mountain top.

That's about all...Oh & not to forget those hen parties, preparations, all those celebs guests... Star-studded event of the year! All those money that goes into this. Crazy!! What to do, she's Liz Hurley, with a millionaire hubby. All the money to spend! Anyway, they benefit from all the coverages from magazines (they get paid for those coverages ok) and not to forget gifts & blessings from their equally rich celeb frens. I have to get a celeb fren!!!

A little too lavish i think. But then again, alot of women want their wedding to be grand cos as they say it's a once in a lifetime thing (unless u'r elizabeth taylor). But wedding is the union of 2 parties, not ur whole village! I don't like it when u invite 40 tables and only maybe about 5 tables are people u know. The others are relatives whom u might not have seen in the past few years. I prefer a more intimate affair. Like a small garden party, u know more like those western styles we see on TV & movies! Where the couple takes the 1st dance... Sounds much more romantic!

Or a beach wedding! I like that (cos i'm a beach babe!) Cool & fun concept, not rigid & conventional. E'ryone decked in casual wear or their best party dress & just party all the way! It's so much fun! I don't like hassle.. This is much more intimate & fun! Don't have to wait forever for e'ryone to arrive, e'ryone can party & enjoy the event & more open! Yes, i shall aim to do that if, in the event, I get married. Hmm, maybe i shall psycho my fren to hold a beach party! She has this crazy idea of e'ryone in swimsuits, and swimming out to the centre of the sea for food. Crazy!! but beach party is fun! Especially with Cafe Del Mar at Sentosa think it'll be kinda cool! Of cos, sentosa is the best place in Singapore, we don't have any other nice beaches like overseas (damn!) unless u marry overseas! Of cos, the best is just a simple party in the afternoon, and off to honeymoon! Hahaha... Waiting for my knight in shining armour to sweep me off my feet...

The Allure of The Bad Boy

Read this interesting article on Yahoo - "The Allure of The Bad Boy". Interesting topic to talk abt because this happens to alot of us women! Somehow or other, we get attracted to the bad boys at least once in our lifetime (ok, maybe some of u r exceptions). I admit that I do! Y? Maybe because they're different... The attitude they exude & just the way they look haha... Most of the time, bad boys are handsome! But sometimes, they just have the bad boy vibe but they're not really bad boys u know...Maybe we need a little excitement in our lives some times, that's y we're attracted to bad boys. But ultimately, to settle down, we need a reliable shoulder.

Anyway, try this quiz on ur afflictions towards bad boys:

True
False

1. Infatuation is the best part of a relationship. T
2. Challenge excites me. T
3. I long for excitement in my life. T
4. There’s nothing more exciting than sexual tension. T
5. I eat when I know I shouldn’t.
6. I am addicted to diet drinks.
7. I fall in love quickly. T
8. There is a bad girl side of me. T
9. I have a history of drinking, shopping, or working too much.
10. I crave chocolate.
11. Even in short-term relationships, breakups can devastate me.
12. When a guy really loves me I tend to take it for granted. T
13. I tend to get bored in relationships.
14. I have a negative history with more than one male in my life.
15. I can easily get restless in a relationship.

28. My friends would say I’m attracted to bad boys.
29. I’ve gone back to a relationship against my better judgment.
30. I have continued to date a guy after he has been abusive to me.

Scoring Key
These questions are weighted in terms of severity. The more true answers you have going down the list, the more susceptible you are to bad boys.
Questions 1-10:
True answers in this category are no big deal unless you make a habit of it.
Questions 11-20:
These questions are much more indicative of susceptibility. If you answered true to items 11, 12, or 13, you may be able to get away with it -- but any true answers from 14 to 20 mean you are on the Bad Boy Hit List.
Questions 21-30:
If you answered true to any of these, you cannot date without parental permission, or at least with your closest friends’ permission. You run the risk of overlooking the nice guy right in front of your face.
My score? Ha..not close enuff! Damn & here i thought I'm into bad boys...Maybe i've been living a lie!! 6 'True' for 1st 10 qns, 2 'True' for 2nd set of 10, and 2 'True' for the last set of 10. Hmm I guess I'm really really a Good Girl!!! hahah... Yes, stop lying to myself, I'm a good girl!!!

Now, is opposite the truth? R Guys attracted to Bad Girls?? Any comments on that?

Farewell To The Best Audit Manager!!

First of all, I did not get any luck in ToTo draw...There goes my $10mil dream...

Anyway, Friday night - Priy's farewell party! Initial location - New Asia Bar, which was just too crowded (heck it was only 7pm & pple flocked to bar at such early hours!!) so we changed location to Ink bar at Raffles The Plaza. Cool place, nice decor & there's a live band coming on after 9pm! Definitely will come back again if given the chance!

Happy hour till 9pm all housepours, wines & beers at 50%! Great! Drinks & food session! Our dear lead - Priy arrived in his party outfit while all the rest of us were in office wear (yes we came after work). IT was a really fun session! Gossips, updates on recent happenings & plenty of laughter filled the entire night! Of cos not to mention photo sessions!! Taking turns to take pict with The Man of the Night!

Me & Priy

Me & Seow with Martinis & Margaritas in hand

The ladies & The Lucky Man!!

Group Photo of the whole DFS Team (past & present)

Yeah, & gossips filled the room, with us spilling all the dirt on other members on the DFS audit team, who were not present! The new manager who still owes the asst $3, 1 snr who showed affection for similar sex, interrogation on our love lives (as usual this is Priy's favourite topic). We all really had a great facial workout, suffering the pain from over-laughter! He's moving back to Brisbane, well another free accomodation when travelling (if travelling to Aussie). But b4 that, the 2 of us still have our chilli challenge to settle!

The 'Favourites' Issue

Usher in the New Year (in accordance to the Lunar Calendar), let's recap my favourites in the past years.. Yes, is YEARS not just the past 1 year...Past 1 yr is abit too short for favourites, afterall i'm not a super movie junkie or listen to loads of music.

Favourite romantic comedy
Jerry Maguire! Tom cruise is so super duper HANDSOME!!
"You complete me" U'll just melt when u hear that..if my other half says that to me, it'll be like heaven! "You had me at hello" Oh man..all those classic

Love actually!! So many romantic love stories in one film! Well actually i only like some of the stories. The heart wrenching story of a long-married couple where the husband has an affair with his secretary but the wife just bears with it. So touching & sad at how vulnerable & at lost the woman is! The love story b/n 2 pple from different background (1 english, 1 mexican i think) the language barrier does not hinder the love blossoming b/n them. Not even the different country of birth! The story of 2 colleagues, secretly in love with each other, but the lady just couldn't afford to let go of her psychotic brother who requires her care & attention 24/7.

Favourite fantasy
Lord of the ring!! Ultimate favourite! Watched each part at least 3 times (3x3 = 9) & extended version somemore! imagine how much time i had spent watching the show! Great movie, great cinematography, great special effects & story...n of course great elf Legolas!

Favourite thriller
Mission Impossible part 1 & 3! Tom Cruise again! Ha..the 1st was a refreshing idea..all those twists & turns in the plots made it intriguing & fun to watch! 3rd movie is great in action & plot! 2nd was a let down cos it was just a show of style..plot not good.

Favourite fun movie
Hmm..that means comedy! Let me think hard..Don't have a really favourite comedy cos i'm kinda ok with all the comedies i've watched. Bridget Jones was quite nice, Meet the Parents also very furnie..

Favourite song
I'm a sucker for old songs! Haha...I still love "Love Me" by Phil Collins, so touching lyrics. The Chinese version is called "会有那么一天" by JJ. Oh & I love this song by Chicago "Making love out of nothing at all". Latest fav is "Somewhere only we know" by Keane. Nice melody. "Can't stop loving you" By Van Halen also v nice! Introduced by my ex..Nice rock song & catchy melody

Favourite anime
Bleach, naruto!! Ha hooked on it. Death note is nice, but cannot match those two! Kuchiki Byakuya, Kakashi sensei -- Best!!

Favourite activity
Water sport!! Wakeboarding, diving, swimming! I love all!! Oh I like to sleep as well!! Hahah..who doesnt!

Favourites
This late category is just to put anything & everything that I can't think of to sort. Favourites!

Favourite topic during gathering - GOSSIPS!! We gals all love to gossip!!
Favourite snack - NUTS!! Yes i'm a sucker for nuts!! Better control myself or i'll get outbreaks! Prunes also my fav!! Yum Yum
Favourite health food - YOGURT!! I just LOVE yogurt!!
Favourite spread - PEANUT BUTTER! Yes told ya i'm a sucker for nuts! peanut butter is just yummy! "Peter Pan" brand is the best! PB goes with just abt anything & e'rything! Try spreading it on banana & toast it!
Favourite fruit - Yes, those who know me will definitely get this right! BANANAS!! Cos it's easy to eat, easy to bring ard, healthy, can curb hunger, gives energy, promotes the cleansing of the intestines (read: cure constipation)...& makes delicious banana cake!
Favourite household activity - BAKING!! followed by cooking. I still prefer baking! It's great way of occupying ursef & relieving stress (not that i'm stressed). But it's kinda great, producing great eats, & sharing it with others, seeing others liking it & praising! (normally i don't eat what i bake). & i have produced critically acclaimed & taste tested products! My famed chocolate chip cookies, cheese cakes, bread pudding, banana cake...& many more...
Favourite online activity - CHATTING!! hahahah
Wow a whole lot of favourites!! Hmm can't help thinking that I've missed out sth...Oh well it can't be helped..Nothings perfect.. Oh yeah..One last favourites: Favourite wish - Strike toto! Esp the $10mil Toto!

Happy Ren Ri

24th Jan 2007 - Our Annual CNY gathering & Ren Ri (7th day of the CNY is known as Ren Ri, aka everyone's bday!)

Usual affair - Steamboat dinner & Lo Hai (Tossing of Yu Sheng)

1st up, Yu Sheng. U have to toss it, the higher the better & to say auspicious phrases for the new year (like 财圆滚滚, 身体健康, etc)

Next up, steamboat!! & as always, we always end up perspiring while eating due to the heat of the steamboat.

After dinner, it's gamble time!!! Ha, whats CNY without gambling! Played blackjack, with a minimal bet of 50 cents to $2. I started out winning a few bucks, but in the very end, I lost the $$ I won back to Mr Alvin Loke. Damn! In the end, I lost 50 cents haha.

Then we switched game to "Polar Bear". Ha it's a really fun game where we'll hv at least 1 Polar Bear & 1 Hunter, while the other players r villagers. Polar Bear = Bad guy who kills the others. Hunter = Good guy, s'posed to find out who's Polar Bear. Villagers = innocent pple. So e'ryone will try to source out who's Polar Bear by accusing each other & voting who they think is POlar Bear. Game ends when POlar Bear is found out, or all villagers r killed. Super fun!!!

Left when they started their Mahjong session (ha i can't & dono how to play mahjong). THat's the eventful Ren Ri!

You Are A Romantic

You life your life like a fairy tale... or at least you try to.Living for magical moments, you believe there's only one true love for you.Love is the most important thing in your life, and you don't take it for granted.Your perfect match loves to be in love as much as you do!

Wow..to think that I'm actually a romantic!!! I always thought I was a Practical person, & i still do!! Maybe deep down inside, I'm a hopeless romantic, just that I need the right key to unlock... Which unfortch has just suddenly slipped out of my reach... So I have to find another key to unlock the mystery within me... Like my sex appeal below...

You Are 73% Sexy

Your Sex Appeal Is: Extremely High
You're very sexy. You just have that certain something that takes over a room. You know how to attract, entice, and keep whoever you want. You are truly appealing.

Which goes to show that my true self is actually hidden, waiting to be discovered!!! Haha.. Just need the right key.. Like i said b4, i knew i had it in me!! But that said..I'm not Love addict!! Proof as per below:

You Are 34% Addicted to Love

Might as well face it, you're a little addicted to love. You won't do anything for love, but sometimes you do more than you should. No one's worth losing your head for - because in the end you'll only lose your heart.Don't avoid falling in love. Just make sure you don't get too hooked.

I mean..How can someone be addicted to love!! Love is not sth u can or shld b addicted to!! Love is sth which comes naturally! It is sth to wait for & allow it to just happen!! Love-addict?? What's that??? Just sounds plain stupid.. I look forward to love, but i'm not an addict.

Your Lust Quotient: 19%
Congratulations, you have your lust under control. It's not that you aren't a lustful person, you just like to save it for the perfect occasion!
See!! I'm not love addict & this shows!! Haha, Not much lust in me...Oh man, maybe i shld work on my lust factor wahahahahah

CNY celebration!

Hey..it's the time of the year! Yes, Chinese New Year is here!!! This is the year of PIG so for all the PIGS out there, Happy PIGGING OUT!!! hahaha...

For me, CNY is just CNY. Nothing spectacular or special cos i don't really celebrate it. Also, cos i don't have much relatives in SG as 98% of my relatives are all in M'sia. So i'm always hard pressed for ideas and things to do during CNY. Maybe i shall watch movies & animes during these 2 days... But boring...wana go out but most pple would be busy visiting relatives and colleccting angbaos (red packets).

So what did i do on CNY eve? Yearly affair for us is to go back to M'sia (JB) to my granny's house. But that's after we have our own reunion dinner at home 1st. My 1st agenda for the day -- Cycling at ECP with my 'Lesbian' pal Daixing!!!

Daixing on blades

Me & sandcastle

So early in the morning we headed to ECP for our morning exercise! She blading, I cycle (cos i just can't seem to blade). Great weather! SUn was up & bright & we missed out the rain which fell down after we passed that particular area in ECP!! What a miracle!! & we saw sandcastle, albeit a weathered & tattered one. Our activity lasted for 2hrs b4 we headed back home. Yes, had to be back home early for the reunion dinner preparation & to clean up the house for CNY.

Reunion dinner? Steamboat!!! What else hahah..easier to eat. Just throw all the raw food into a pot of boilinng water & let it cook! We had our own reunion dinner instead of at my granny's cos it's just so much easier for us. After we're done, head to JB!!

Traffic was good..No jam, just that the custom was full of people & had to wait in Q for quite sometime. Other then that, the journey was smooth. Reached granny's ard 9pm. Yes, they were also having steamboat. Everyone was there...Actually the mood was jovial, no hint of what happened the last sat (the passing away of my uncle). I think for them, i felt also a hint of relief, that after all these times, finally he has gone off to another world & no longer suffering.

& my granny couldn't recognise me!! Cos i went to cut my hair again! THis time to really shorter.. Well, i needed a new start & to do sth so snipe off, colour up! I'm getting hooked to cutting my hair!!!

Me & my cousins!

At night, close to 12, people started to light fireworks! It was a starry starry night!! Fireworks galore!! All sorts of fireworks up in the sky, bursting & lightened up the clear, dark sky! Spectacular sight!! That night, slept at close to 2am..Damn tired.

Longevity noodles(with gingko nuts)

2nd day morning woke up at 10am. Routine habit, to have a bowl of longevity noodle in sweet soup. For good luck & obviously longevity! I don't particulary like it but eat for luck! & in the afternoon, gamble time!! Ha, it's a must for CNY. Gamble is nvr forgotten! Played poker (where you aim to get a total of 21 points for max win) We played small, 20 cents RINGGIT. Ended up, i won 20 cents!! Haha, it doesnt matter..what matters is we played & had fun! And after the downpour stopped (yes, it rained..) we headed back to SG (home sweet home).

1 day gone, 2 more to occupy...What to do???

The Time of the Year

Guess what time of the year? Easy one... Yea, yesterday was V-day (Valentine's Day). The Time of the Year, the blood sucking day of the year!!! N Yes, dateless once again on V-day (not that I care abt celebrating V-day, seriously I don't) V-day to me is just a stupid commercial hoax to cheat people of their hard earned money (unless u r so gullible that u enjoy being cheated). Imagine everything being marked up at least 50% just on that particular one day!! Flowers go for at least twice the original minuscule amount, restaurants offering romantic set dinners for exhorbitant prices (when the portion u r getting is no different from the normal meals on other days), V-day related gifts & cards suddenly popping up everywhere & priced dearly... SO many stupid things changing just for that one day!! It really sounds meaningless! N i wunder why people r so willing to spend to enjoy just this one day! It's so cliche! Come on be different! Why do u have to celebrate V-day? Just cos it's so damn commercialised that u would feel left out if u don't? Because it is so commercialised, it has lost its whole meaning! What do u get just by celebrating V-day with ur loved ones on that day? Extreme satisfaction? Extreme exhilaration? Extreme romantic atmosphere? Bullshit lar! Forgive my vulgarness... But I feel that such feelings don't just suddenly appear on V-day, those feelings r already embedded deep inside each other's hearts & as long as both of u r happy, that's all there is!!

I see some girls who will not take No for an answer on V-day. Meaning, they have to celebrate V-day. So childish. I hate V-day, cos it has become so unspecial! No point at all! It's like everyone becomes robotic, & automated to have to celebrate V-day on 14th Feb every year. N not to mention people jacking up prices to take advantage of those gullible people!

V-day is passe... As long as a couple is happy together, meant for each other, deeply in love, everyday is V-day (haha ok this is even more of a cliche) but it is so very true! U can celebrate ur own V-day any time of the year!

I prefer impromptu. When u feel like it, u suddenly give ur loved ones a surprise! This is even more touching & romantic! Yes, i've said it, so my potential, future partner should get it! Give me surprises bah! I'm always full of ideas to provide to pple be it how to propose, how the wedding shld go, how u shld chase after someone... hahaha I like to do those sorta things, give pple cute & interesting ideas!

Just recently, a colleague of mine told me he's gg to propose to his longtime gf during V-day (unfortch due to work commitment, this has been postponed to Fri) & i just started throwing him ideas of how to propose! I'm sure girls like to be surprised! Old-fashioned way of proposing still works, but if u can do it creatively, it would b even better! Afterall, proposal is a memorable event! So i started throwing him ideas of how to hide the ring, when to present the ring as a surprise to her! haha all those funny ideas derived from watching too many movies! N he said i'm crazy! well, i tried to help! haha it would be great if I get a spectacular proposal (ok i don't even hv a bf now, & i'm NOT dying or dreaming to get married now..No such thot at all across my mind, not even within 5,000km of my vision) I'm just saying for the fun of it!

Oh CNY is coming..& I'm feeling the mood---Of not wanting to work!!! Haha, nope i don't feel the CNY mood, just the holiday mood of not having to work!! That said, i'm not a big fan of CNY. I find it boring cos all the shops r closed, all ur frens r not at home, & u hv to entertain ur long-lost relatives whom u have nvr seen b4 in ages (only once a year). N u hv to greet them by their seniority which takes a few minutes to recall how to say it out. Haiz... As for this year, it'll be even more solemn affair cos of the recent funeral so can't celebrate CNY at my granny's (which is unfortunately in JB) Yes, hv to make a trip back to JB to my granny's. I hate JB!!! Damn dangerous, dirty & terrible place. I wana skip CNY!!!!! But hard to find pple cos e'ryone is staying for CNY as per instructed by parents. Haiz...what to do?????

Half day on Friday (which is tomorrow) Yeah

In the end, it was inevitable

Tragedy strikes not once but twice (ok, the 2nd is not so much a tragedy)..

2 hits in one day.. How lucky can one get..

1st hit
My uncle passed away today from TB. Expected yet unexpected because he had survived through 4 near death experiences but gone through all 4. The last was the fatal one. It really makes one think hard abt life, how life is so un predictable...anything and everything can just happen like that, with a snape of finger. He used to be really strong and healthy man, family man no doubt, no hint of any impending illness. But alas, misfortunate just happen to befall on such a great man. 1st was diabetes, which wrecked havok to his family n the extended family. It made him weakend to a sad stage n unable to work to support his family. Apparently, his condition appeared to be better with time n the dialysis, but TB striked! N he was reduced to skin n bones (literally). It was a heartening sight which I still remember till now. Tears filled my eyes (n i'm not one who cries easily). It just melts my heart. To think that he used to be so fit n healthy, now reduced to almost useless, blind n unable to communicate. Just when everyone thought "hey maybe he'll make it through CNY", he passed away. Maybe it was for the better.. If it had happened during CNY, it might have been worse.

This makes one think hard abt what they have done with their life. Life is really unpredictable. U'll nvr know what is going to happen next or what future lies ahead of u. So what u can do now is to fully utilise every moment of ur life! LIve life to the fullest. Leave no regrets! Love ur loved ones with all ur heart, fulfil ur deepest dreams, do what u have always wanted to do (i think i still have no guts to do sky-diving), talk to ur crush, or end a meaningless relationship. Do what u feel u have to do, else u'll have regrets if you don't. My regrets? I think i have a long list which I need to slowly go through (hmm sounds like i'm influenced by "My Name is Earl", he keeps a list as well) I regret letting go of a possible beginning 7 years ago. I regret not studying hard enough in NTU. I regret not travelling more when I was younger. I regret not scoring an "A" in F-Maths. I regret, i regret, i regret... There are just so many regrets in life, u just have to deal with it. The best way? Fulfill it so that u have no regrets..

Which brings me to my 2nd hit:

I shall not elaborate much on this. Yes, this 2nd hit is one of my many regrets. Well, come to think of it, I should have known when it all started, but sometimes, when things happen, they happen for a reason and you just can't stop. Afterall, human beings have feelings. And sometimes you just feel "Hey, this might just work out". If you really put ur heart in it, u just feel that everything is possible, but reality is always harsh n opposing. It's hard, I know. I knew all along, but I just refused to put much thought into it, just because I had this small part of me thinking this might just work out (but a larger part thinking this is going to head for the other direction). Yes, we all know that this can work out n we've seen or heard of examples of such cases leading to a happy ending. But they are just a small portion of a larger sample size.

I'm not blaming anyone, n in fact noone is at fault at all! Things happen for a reason n I'm glad that it happened in the 1st place because it was great! U learn n treasure everything that happened and I sincerely do. It's just that it's hard to work things out with the physical distance being a major hindrance. Even if we put our hearts really into it, I don't know if it'll eventually work out. But that does not mean that everything stops there n then. Life continues & if route A is not meant to be, there's always route B n that might turn out to be the 2nd best thing!

Love is all about taking risks; the risk of rejection, the risk of heartbreak and the risk of falling in love and not being able to get out.

At least I have loved before, than to never have loved & be loved...

P/S: I don't entertain unnecessary questions at this point in time..Interpret what u read, do not ask..That's me in case pple reading don't understand..I don't like to answer or entertain questions

If you're reading this (not sure if u'll still remember my blog), just want to let u know that I understand. I thought it might work out, but in the end i guess it's really hard on us. Trust me that I really had a great time. But hey, we can still continue in route B!! N while u'r still here, we can still meet up for dinner or movie! Or go for a drink! We nvr did fulfill our sentosa outing :) If u'r having a birthday party, hope i'm invited or at least let me drop a gift.

The couple & relatives offering their toast! Yum Seng (aka Cheers in local context)

Drinking session starts!! And the groom has to get drunk ha!

And that was the end of the lovely wedding dinner. Held at Club Chinois, an unlikely place for a wedding. Nice & cosy feel to the whole event! Left at ard 11.30pm.. Dead beat tired but had fun!! This is only the 1st in 2007, hopefully there won't be any coming (at least not to my knowledge for the moment). But more to come in 2008...It'll be the year of RED BOMBS!!!

As for me?? Wait long long!! I'm still too young to commit myself!!

What makes a woman Tick??

Another interesting research conducted by YES researchers... SOunds like they have nth better to do than to conduct all these crazy but interesting experiments.
What makes a woman tick?? Apparently sweaty men!! Haha... we get turned on by sweaty men! Ok not those fat flabby sweaty men...but those Hot, taut bod sweaty men! I agree!! haha.. Men hard at work in the gym or running,...they're kinda appealing!! Of cos it must go with a hot bod! That's eye-candy!
It must be the image of hard work potrayed when men get all sweaty after exercise.. Makes them so much more appealing (sans the smell) Of cos a pretty face is a prerequisite for that statement to work, I feel..
So what does this mean? Go for a long run to get all hot n sweaty n suddenly u'r all so much more appealing! haha makes for a good foreplay for sex aiy...
Maybe it's also the wetness which makes men so much more appealing and women aroused... U become so much sexier when u'r drenched in water... LIke women in bikini emerging from the water...ooo so sexy...hahaha..ok 1st must work hard to get a toned bod b4 it is really sexy..u wun want all the budges showing which sorta minus some points!
Then again... Another poll shows an interesting result!
Women rate clothes HIGHER than sex!!! hahahhaa... They would willingly give up on sex for 3 months to 1 year in return for a new wardrobe of clothes!!!! hahah this just goes to show women cant leave without clothes n fashion!! The conclusion given: Clothing is more reliable than their man in giving them confidence and making them feel sexy!! Hahah...well true to a certain extent cos u wear the clothes n they're urs... While men, well they'r human beings after all n feelings change...
Relationship is a weird n complicated thing, but clothes are dead n easy to manage.. If u don't lilke them, just throw or change. You cant do that to a relationship. It's alot more different! I'm not a love guru (wendy i need to correct you), but somehow or other, I always give pple advice or talk on this kinda thing... like i noe alot, which in actual fact, I don't think i'm that qualified. When it comes to relationship, I'm as puzzled and rash. Do I believe in ever-lasting love? I don't know seriously..I want to believe it exists (n i'm sure there r lots of examples ard me n u), but u nvr really know until u r living in one!! So just take 1 step at a time n c what happens!! Some serious topic aiy... Well cos Valentine's Day is coming.. Another of those over-commercialised, money-sucking day of the year. So stupid to celebrate that day just because. Y allow those blood-sucking vendors get what they want (our money)! Y celebrate just cos it's V-day? E'ryday is V-day when u'r in love (haha it's so cliche) but it's true. U can celebrate it anytime u feel like it! Anniversay is also V-day! N much more memorable n meaningful! Hmm...come to think of it, love gurus r alwz the last to get hitched or nvr!! Argh, then i'm not gg to be a love guru!!!
Ha, our engagement team at DFS is having a PINK theme on wed (V-day). Luckily I have a pink top!
wow another fact - Crossing the street in New York while engrossed with a cellphone or iPod could soon get you fined US$100!!! Kaoz!!!

DFS Night Out

Another of our DFS engagement night out. This time we went to Cafe Iguana, next to Brewerkz (which we went the other time). A night of food (Nalcos!!!YEAH!!!), drinks and fun!

It was great, 1-1 drinks (margaritas, beers and housepour) from 6-9pm. So we went there at 6.30pm, to fully utilise that offer hahaha...Courtesy of our social committee who organised this friday night out.

As usual, Priy (our out-going engagement manager) was in his usual jovial mood and talkative, cracking jokes and making everyone laugh their hearts out! And not to forget, his usual interrogation about everyone's love-life!!! Yes, no hiding any information from him, he's PERSISTANT!!!
And our new joiners were treated to SHOTS!!! As a welcome drink. Yes disgusting shots that taste like medicine, according to those who drank it.
Overall a nice and fun outing. Lots of food (Actually too much food left-over) and lots of margaritas...Ok i think i had at least 5 glasses of margaritas!!! Haha...think i'm getting the hang of drinking, well not hard liquor.
When's the next outing?? 22nd Feb - Priy's farewell party at New Asia Bar... Think it's gg to b really fun! The theme of the day - RED!!! hahaha

The Entry with The Most IMportance!!

1st of All, Congrats to Roger Federer for achieving the PERFECT 10!! Grand slams i mean. Yes, this invincible man has won 10 grand slams since his 1st at Wimbledon in 2003. Amazing feat! Now he has to beat the world record of 14 slams won by Pete Sampras..well, that's only 4 more to go, no problem for him! He is just so damn dominating! More so than Pete Sampras was! It would be amazing if these 2 tennis players could play a match while still in their prime (Sampras can't do that now)
Back to the topic...
Yes, what started off as just a mere travel blog has blossomed and grown into a full length blog!! Full of my complains, comments and views of things ard me.. N now, finally after about 8 months, I'm into my 50th entry! Yes, that's silver anniversay, hence the title "The Entry with the most IMportance". Of cos this is impt. Well than, I must write more to show case my blogging skilss after 8 months hahaha...
i like to write alot...not those short short 2 para entries...not fulfilling enuff for me haha... if i wana write, might as well pour out all my thoughts. 2 para - too short. This entry shall be incoherent ahha...no particular topic, just random rumblings abt the recent happenings.
Attended a close ex-colleague's wedding on Sat - 27/1/07. The 1st of many more to come in these 2 yrs (2007-2008) so many pple r getting married that it's kinda scary! N most of them r from my batch, means same age or just slightly older. Got to hear of 2 other ex-classmates being married during a recent gathering with my secondary school friends. Scary! Long time no see or hear, suddenly the next thing u noe, they'r married. N they'r just like 25 at most? THat's super duper young to get married! B4 u can actually enjoy ur adulthood, play n have some fun, u'r married, n became somebody's wife! That sorta takes away most of ur freedom cos effectively, whatever u'r gg to do or have done, affects not just ursef, but ur spouse n the related family members. That's an even scarier thought! N u'r tied down with commitments, at such a young age!! Omigod! I can NOT accept that!
2008 is gg to be a super busy yr for weddingS! Already confirmed at least 3 frens of mine getting married. by getting married i mean really getting married, like the customary dinner n such. In chinese terms, ROM is not equivalent to being married (thought effectively by law u r). U need to go through the customary traditional way of the chinese wedding (i.e. the fetching of the bride n being sabotaged by the bridesmaids, the tea ceremony, the stupid wedding dinner). So there's going to be 3 wedding dinners for me to attend in 2008, n they belong to my closer frens, who r of the same or similar age group as me. Scary! That's like 26 years old n u'r labelled as married.
Y do people wana get married so early? I can nvr understand that. My ideal age of marriage is AT LEAST 28 yrs. That's when I feel i'll be more mature enuff for marriage life. Marriage life can be scary.. u have lost ur freedom of acting as an individual. U now hv to think bigger n wider. U hv to think abt ur husband, his family, ur own family blah blah... So many things to consider when u want to do sth. (unless both parties r v open, which is quite a rare case). So y tie ursef down with such things at such a young age?? Must enjoy more!
Anyway, marriage eventually is just a piece of paper for security. If u want to start a family, get married. If not, no hurry! Cos what's urs will be urs, nth can change that! So even if u get married, if that person is not destined to be with u, what's gg to happen is DIVORCE, which is even worse off than just a BREAKUP. Ok, i'm getting cynical n pessimistic. But it has truth in it. 1 fren of mine said this-"If u'r marriage, u'r covered for life" which means, if u get divorced, at least u get alimony n some form of compensation. True. But u get alot more sadness n trouble, esp if u hv kids. Hey, not trying to discourage pple from getting married. If u feel u'r ready for the challenge or that u hv reached that stage, go ahead! But pls don feel that "hey, we've been together for ages, next step shld just be marriage", that's not gg to wrk. It's a wrong mentality. U shld get married cos u feel that's where u want to be, maybe u wana start a family, u want to settle down, not just cos u feel hey 10 yrs together shld get married already. N Make sure that's the person u wana settle down with hahaha...
For me? 28 years at least..i still wana hang ard n play for a while, travel carefree ard the world. When u hv a family, travelling is not just 2 of u, it's a full family! N it's expensive! My client is now troubling over the amount of money she has to fork out to send 4 pple (2 adults, 2 children) to australia. That's a lot of money n alot of other considerations. So must enjoy ur own world longer haha...
That said, children? I'm not sure they r in my mind now. They'r troublesome ahaha too noisy n naughty. Well that's what i alwz see in public. Kids screaming n running ard wild, not listening to their parents... N more problems to come when they go to school, worrying abt their grades, what school they go to, how they will perform academically... I think i'll faint thinking abt these.. Sometimes, i think to myself if my kids become delinquent, i can't take it! If their grades r bad, I can't take it. Then again, pple kept saying to me that if it's ur own kids, u wun let that happen! But who noes?? Paranoid hahaha... But i think i'll slap my kids if they'r bad, which alot of parents nowadays do not do so cos they feel u shld teach them instead of punishing them.. Aiyo...so many troubles rite.. No kids also not bad rite?? Who knows...
Oh, i have to start training now.. Taking part in vertical marathon in Feb 25th. 66 storeys of stairs up the Republic Plaza.. Dono if i can take it. Stamina is not as good as b4, cos lack of exercise these few weeks due to the stupid peak period I'm in. Must start running n exercising more often now. I hope i wun collapse haf way up the 66 flrs. Hope i wun let my team down..
Oooo... CNY is coming in abt 2 wks' time. haiz..it's the time of the year again. Seriously, I do not quite like it. Have to travel all the way to M'sia to visit my relatives, stay at the boring plc with no entertainment for abt 2 days...c unfamiliar faces come visit...Boring... I wana go elsewhere for CNY. Escape CNY!! ahahah... I especially hate those silly CNY songs!! They are like on automation! Running again n again n again all over Singapore! N it gets worse in M'sia.. Get them outa my head!! Eeks... N as usual, my angbao money is minimal cos in Ringgit..n i don hv much relatives in Singapore so no use for me. Haiz... I wana escape CNY!!
Wow, I've achieved another super long post! Ha...Happy 50th anniversay BLOG!!

Hot Topics recently reported in the papers
1) Youngsters blasting music loudly on public transport
2) PDA (Public Display of Affection) on overdose
Coincidentally, I encountered both onboard the bus to JP on Sunday night. DAMN IRRITATING!!!! On topic 1 Blasting music loudly for what?!?!?!?! Haven they heard of earphones or headphones??? This young teenage couple was sitting behind me on the bus n they just played music from their HP. Kaoz. What the heck!! I don’t want to be listening to Jewel with Britney Spears singing ‘sexy’ in the background ok. We all want our own peace and quiet, to enjoy the songs they want to be listening to. So please keep ur music to urself ok. Sometimes u just wonder – Are they deaf!!! How can they blast music so loud? No wonder they have no idea, cos they are DEAF!!!
On topic 2 People will start saying, hey does that mean we can’t even hold hands?? Ok please do not over-react. I mean PDA on overdose ok. We do not want everyone to be strangers now. Holding hands – ok, kissing – ok (as long as u do not do it overboard, u get what I mean), occasional huggings – ok. Just not PDA on overdose. Recently there is a case of a couple doing it on a bus, and being caught on tape by someone. Who is more perverted? Obviously the person who shoots the act is!!! Come on, why do u want to shoot such an act? It’s porn!!! If u’r not comfy with it, report. What do u expect to get from shooting such an act? U’r effectively shooting porn!!! I would call what the couple did as disgusting act! It does not even qualify as perverted act!! It is just pure disgusting. I mean – Get a room!!! It is public place, public transport, people do not need such entertainment (tho a bus ride can be boring at times). Public display of ur private parts r just so not it man! Eeks!!! I mean u want to do sth, do it in private. Public is just not the right way to go ok. Don’t know what these people are thinking sometimes. I just don’t like it when people do really too intimate things in public, in full view of everyone else. I don’t need that kind of entertainment.
Read – It’s too intimate things that I disagree. So don’t go walking 3 feet away from ur partner or behave like complete strangers.

Ok, to clarify I did not witness such lewd act and the couple DID not do such a thing.

They only did some too intimate stuff. The guy was lying on the gal’s breasts!!! Not just for a while, but for a long, long while!!! And he was asking if she was comfortable. Eeks. Just cannot stand it..and they were talking ever so loudly!!! Eeks… Please go somewhere else lar… I don’t like that..

"I put semen on my face"
"I take placenta for good skin"
"I swallow"
These are just some of the few quotes that goes to show the extent women go to for facial care! The last one is not meant to be X-rated..It is just a punchline for an advert for Imedeen pills (yes, it caused a BIG STIR in this ultra conservative Singapore small island).
The 1st quote, got it from the TV Show - Nip/Tuck. But I wouldn't be surprised if someone actually does that!! I mean people already do take placenta. Yes, it's true, it has been published in papers and TV actresses actually confessed to doing such bloody act!! Eeks, imagine eating those THINGS u pass out during birth. Puke, double Puke, Triple Puke...
The lengths people go to be beautiful. Maybe you would say "Hell no way i would put semen on my face". But, if it was mixed in a facial cream, you would NEVER know rite?? That was what happend in the TV show. Mixed in facial cream, proved to work wonders, but no-one knows the exact ingredients. So they'll continue to use, until one fine day - BOOM! The secret is out! So what do u do now? Sue the cosmetic company till they go bankrupt? Stop using the cream, which has proved to really work wonders? Would you do that? After using the cream for years, would you just stop 'cos u found out it has semen in it? Knowing makes it hard to stomach, but u have been applying it for years when it has been semen for years. So what do u do? U still want ur pretty face rite.. Me? I don't know. But well, in the 1st place, I would not have the money to buy such a cream (it would definitely cost a BOMB) Do you know how expensive those bloody creams are, when they are just a really small bottle!!!! OH well, I think people will still continue to use it, cos it really works! But of cos, it u had known what it contains in the 1st place, I would s'pose u might not want to try it.
Like the placenta! Yukes!!! Can't imagine looking at it while I eat... Would I eat it if I were not told what it was? Probably not, cos I don't take food that I don't recognise or I don't know. So if it looks foreign, it is a NONONONO for me. I'm not adventurous when it comes to food, I'm just not picky abt the quality.
Haiz..why am I on the topic of beauty care? Cos I'm having a terrible outbreak, from the stress and bloody late nights these 3 weeks. Not enuff sleep causes indigestions, puffy eyes, poor skin condition and makes people fat. Damn, don't even feel like looking at myself in the mirror. Idiot spots and pimples, make them go away!!! How to curb this bloody problem? Must go for more facials, slap on more creams n moisturisers if those help, and within my financial capabilities.
Well, let's not generalise and say women r beauty conscious. Oh pls, we'r in 2007 now. Time has changed, drastically! Now men r equally beauty conscious (n even more health conscious than us women) Everytime when we eat out, the guys will say things like - I've had too much, this is fattening, this translate to 10 more laps of running...eeks makes us gals look like greedy giants!! Ok, fine I know u hv to keep up with ur 6 or 8-pacs - hey, it is a good thing to have those pacs cos they really look good, esp cool if ur partner has those pacs (I like it if mine has those toned visible pacs, n i like it even more if I have at least a 4) But it just makes us look greedy! Of cos don pig out too much cos it is disgusting as well, but at least don't make us feel damn guilty abt eating all those food.
Yes, men r beauty conscious nowadays. Beauty salons for guys r sprouting up everywhere.. and guys r taking good care of their skin now! Facials, moisturisers, toner, u name it they have it. Heck, my bro has more skincare products than me!!! Well it's not a bad thing u know.. At least they know how to present themselves better..which helps in leaving a good impression on others. Well, i'm sure u wouldn't want ur boyfriends to always look sloppy or in torn-tattered clothes when going out right. If ur bfs look good, u'll feel good as well (just make sure u'r equally matched else people will start gossiping again)..I know i would like that.
Metrosexual - that's what they used to call guys who take care of their well-being, with a feminine touch or edge in them. Used to be called SNAG (Sensitive New Age Guy) but i think metrosexual sounds more apt. We should nurture more of such guys here in Singapore. Truly deeper lack those kinda guy...they should really learn how to be more gentlemanly. well at least it has somewhat improved through the years, but really they should learn n improve even more. Watched a show on MOnday night some weeks ago. Topic on the show - How do u propose to ur gf? And guess what? Most, if not all, the Singaporean guys on the show said this:
"Do you want to buy a flat?"
Faint!!
Yes, it is a common thing to say here because only when u get married, then u can apply for a new flat (unless u go private which is more expensive). So whenever, people get married, they would want to buy a flat. And that is the line most SG guys use here to propose to their wife-to-be. FAINT!! Can they be more creative!!!! n romantic!!! I would NOT agree to such a proposal. There's no effort put in it. It's like "well, that's the only way to go after so many years together, so might as well get a flat, settle down".. What the ****?? So unromantic and spoils the whole thing! We're not asking for a spectacular proposal with fireworks or some big wooha (of cos if u can afford it) just be more creative n romantic. NEVER use "do u want to buy a flat" as a proposal line! And gals out there, DO NOT agree to such a proposal! So Unromantic. Imagine years down the road, when u children or some pple ask u how did he propose, ur answer is "He asked if I want to get a flat" Double faint! eeks... Even unromantics like me would hate that kinda proposal line. Take me to effel tower (i think the spelling is incorrect) or some other places ahhahaha...kidding lar, it's not very possible anyway (hint hint).
Moral of the story -- I want to get rich hahaha (this is totally so unrelated) anyway, moral of the story? U go read n decide for ursef. I'm just writing cos i have not written for a long time (which explains the 3 entries I posted in 1 day!! I'm super efficient ok)
Ok back to stupid work. I hate the peak!!!

Are You Hot??

Ha nope, not that stupid reality TV show contest..It's a test on ur sex appeal..

And this is my score:

46th Entry - 4 more to Silver Anniversary!!

What started out as a travel blog has now blossomed into a full length 46 eps of bloggings (complains, thoughts, ramblings etc) Yes, 4 more to go to hit silver anniversay (50 entries)
Was reading the newspaper yesterday after a long and tiring day at work (11+pm) Yes, tho tired still muz read the papers to keep mi updated abt the current affairs and stupid and interesting reports.. Came across this particular report on some tests some Dr. or PHD pple did on the behaviour of males & females..
They did a report to prove the notion on 'Beauty lies in the eyes of the Beholder'. And the conclusion they got is not necessarily true, as they found out that other pple's opinions do matter!
What they did:
Show picts of males to females, and show them clips of the same male, one clip with approving smiles from other females, and one clip without that. And guess what?? They find males in the clips with approving smiles from other females more attractive. So that means approvals from outside parties play a part in determining if one feels that the guy is attractive or not..
HOWEVER.. for guys, it's different (as alwayz)
Same test was held, now with the guys deciding which male in the clip is better looking. And the results is -- THE OPPOSITE!! which means that guys will choose the male without approving smiles from other females. The test concluded that males feel threatened when they see that the other guy is more popular with the ladies, and that is why they chose the opposite way haha
Interesting..but then again we alwz c that happening. Girls can appreciate pretty gals and good looking guys, but Guys can only appreciate pretty gals. Not macho to be complimenting guys to be good looking..haha
The things pple do to prove sth.. There r alwz these kinda interesting n weird experiments done on human behaviour that r sooooo insignificant in life that u wun reali tink much into it...but they are reali interesting to know abt... Shall keep my eyes open for more such interesting facts.

Peak is HERE!!!

Damn sian...Typed my blog and was preparing to publish it when i accidentally deleted it when i was tryin to format the alignment..what luck! Now i have to retype what i wrote..waste my time n brain power.
Anyway peak is here and i hate it!! 1st time going thr peak as a senior and it is DIFFERENT!! As a senior, means u hv to deal with alot of admin stuff and wrk-related things. Plan audit, conclude findings, issues, deal with managers, partners, draft accounts, close accounts, make sure everything is tidy and proper b4 sign off...so many admin things to do and stupid forms to fill... damn sian. As assistant, still can act blur, do only what u'r asked to do. As senior, u'r s'posed to know it all, ans assts' questions, help them clear points...Esp hate it when u have new managers or new developments during the year. Means = more work!!! New managers = more questions, more detailed reviewing. Not to mention stupid standards that r ever-changing. B4 u grasp the meaning of it, they review n revise, no training means u just HAVE TO KNOW!!!
PPle say i'm lucky which i'm not denying cos some pple hv it worse (super late nights, super shitty jobs, super bad everything) but i'm just tired. Maybe i'm just stupid, cannot grasp the meaning of the work or issues that will arise from a situation, or maybe i just choose to ignore! Like what my client told me, I'm alws floating ard. Ha, cos no matter what, in audit and aabs (my dept), u'r not rewarded for out-performing. Promotion is still the standard annual promotion, annual increment and bonus is not that fantastic. So work so hard for what?? Top band? Only 50-100 difference in basic pay. Work 24 hrs a day 365 days a year for that minuscule increment? Crazy!!!
This job i'm doing, s'posed to be good but major changes has happend this year. New manager (super good manager returing back to homeland), partially new team (alot of team members quit). So damn terrible. New requirements, more stringent review and checks and stupid aws which is used to store all our workpapers (yes we'r gg paperless).
So what does this mean? Time to get out of audit. Auditor = no life. Very true. Cos u wrk everyday!! Even wkends at times. N we don get paid that much for that kinda sad working life. Life is not fair. Yes we'r getting an increment across board, but who knows. Maybe their rationale is More money= work harder!! I shall actively start my job hunting soon.. Can i 'dong' till S2 (July)?? Nothing is for certain...
Ok, i shall be careful in doing my alignment...Don wana type the whole thing again... Tomorrow gota work and it's a sat and cos of that, i cnt go KTV (yes, suddenly i'm gg to ktv so often). I would rather sleep or wrk at home...

2007!!!

Yeah..2006 has passed..Now is a new year 2007!!!

Wednesday blues..Cos need to start work (after like 11 days of leave slacking at home, doing shopping...) So not looking forward to working..it happens..Vacation is evil as it sucks all ur energy n drive to wrk.

So out with my new dress (white), new hairdo (short), new hair colour (reddish brown), new earrings (yes, some friend went bangkok and bought like 10 pairs for me) and partially new shoes (wore once only). N strutted to the office. So damn busy on the 1st day of wrk. Crowded with people standing ard. I hate crowds. I want peace n quiet..with only a few pple in ofce so that i can chat with (keeps me sane).

Anyway, alot of pple r shocked to c my new look. The short hair. haha..but i got all positive comments. So the conclusion is : I SHALL KEEP SHORT HAIR in 2007. Makes me look fresher n younger!!hahahah..

So what's my new year resolution? Er..nothing. Decided not to make a list of resolutions cos they just do not work. I mean if u want sth fight to get it. What's the pt of making resolution when most of the time u do not bother to fulfil it or just forget abt it. So, if i want sth, i fight to get it. No point saying at this moment - I want to ..... this year, i want to ... that this year. Make a full list of like 100 items n in the end none kept. Though i hv wishes i hope will come true (wishes are different from resolutions)

Wish list
Strike toto (preferably at least S$2mil) - Oh i did not manage to strike on my lottery tic damn sad
Not work but still get money (i did say it's a wish list right, so it allows for the impossible)
Toned abs and arms (ha..this is tough but well it's a wish list so i don care)
Get perfect eyesight (ok this i can get by doing lasik, but it's in wish list cos i want a miracle!!!)
Be a pianist expert (yes i play the piano, i got Grade 8, but i suck at playin the piano)
Be a yoga expert (i do yoga, i can bend not like beckham tho, i can do headstand unstably, but i reali envy those yogis so great at yoga, bend like nobody's biz, do incredible stuffs..if only)
MIRACLE (ha it's a wishlist, if there's a miracle, all those stated above will come true!!)

So there u have it, my wishlist, which is not reali possible to achieve bbut i just like to wish. I m practical, but there is just a small % of me wishing for fairytale story or ending. hahahah

So that's it for the start of 2007, and I'm at the 44th post for my blog! 6 more n i'm at the half decade mark. Silver anniversary.

Till then...

Red Head for 2007

After 20 odd years of being a natural black head (aka black hair lar), i've decided to change my image! Yes, suddenly cut short my hair was only part 1 of the whole image overhaul process. Next up, colouring my hair. And i chose RED!! Y? Cos i like it..different from those brown colour or blond colour flooding the streets now...

So went to Watsons and bought a pac of hair colour instead of going to salon to do it (saves $$, oli $15++).

After colourant is put on

And started the process of colouring. All it takes is 30mins for it to set after massaging the colour in and wala! U get the end result.

It felt like my hair was bleeding when i was washing off the colourant. And even tho I have less hair now, it took ages to completely wash the colourant off..Ended up soaked with water while washing.

End result--Red hair!!

The World is Round, but isit Fair?

A ‘useless’ manager, who doesn’t do anything and not knowledgeable enuff, has just been promoted to SENIOR manager (we call her Maid). What the heck!?!? What’s wrong with my firm?? Are they BLIND?? N this is not the 1st time such things happened. What is fairness? Why do we have to slough so hard, and in the end, the results beg to differ.

What is fairness? What is right and wrong? When does being just become evil?

Ok, being philosophical here. Just watched Death Note. This is what it is asking. Justice vs. Evil.

Scenario 1
Policeman killing criminals on the run - Justice being served. It's their job.

Scenario 2
Some guy kills the same criminals on the run - Murderer. Wrong!

The end result is the same. The deserving party died. But in the process, 2 different views arose. So why is it right and just for a policeman to kill the criminal and wrong for the other guy to do the same? Even if the criminal were caught, jailed and scheduled for death penalty the next day, it is still wrong for some other guy to kill that criminal?

Isnt the ultimate aim the same - to punish the criminal for whatever he/she had done? So why the different treatment? Because the other guy who killed the criminal had no right to. That is what the movie says so. So it means policeman has the right to kill the criminal? just because of the post 'POLICEMAN"???

I'm not saying that anyone can kill just anyone. But we're talking abt criminals here right. Those who deserve to be punished. And of cos those that deserve the death penalty. We can't be killing all other minor criminals.

In the movie, Kira (aka Light) started off by killing big time criminals. I felt that is the right thing to do. Not using the death note as a means to kill people u hate or for ur personal use but for the good of the whole world. But the police are not happy and labelled him 'Murderer'. Ok, rationale being u shld not take justice in ur own hand but shld wait till the verdict is set. Innocent until proven guilty. But for those who deserve death penalty, it is just!

Of cos, when Kira started to go haywire, and kills almost all criminals (major n minor) he seems abit out of hand. Worse still when he started to kill people who r after him. That is murder. Not too just anymore.

I bet this Japanese manga has set up a range of debates on the ethical side of the story. To kill or not to kill. And I would s'pose alot of people tend to agree with Kira, that what he did is correct. Well, i mean, hey it helps to keep crimes at bay and those r deserving victims. But there always comes a point when u can't tell when is the limit. Not all criminals deserve to die. Some deserve to be given a 2nd chance.

Back to my 1st paragraph--Undeserving people r being rewarded prematurely. While many deserving people are still stucked in the same position, waiting for the annual promotion. What is this? There r so many deserving people in my department who r outstanding and deserve accelerated promotion or more recognition, but what do they get? Nothing!! They still have to wait in line for the annual promotion, annual evaluation. Maybe they get more bonus, but only slightly more, not enough to warrant their hard effort. What is wrong?? Just hope that the firm will wake up soon or it'll suffer from the lack of knowledgeable and good people.

As i said..'The World is Round, but is it Fair'? The answer is obviously NONONO. It will nvr be. If it were, I would be rich by now.

New Start New Year

Keke..All things to change for the New Year 2007!

1st - New wardrobe. Yes, After slightly more than 1 year, I have decided to change my wardrobe. Those old clothes which I have worn for 1year plus, r going to be thrown outa my wardrobe and to be replaced by new ones! Bought lotsa clothes this 2nd half of the year, all thanks to Internet Shopping! So brand new wardrobe!

2nd - Handphone! After 2 long years, it's time to change to a new HP. Yes, the old one sucks and dying on me. Becoming crazy by the day, ringing by itself or hang on the Message screen. Must change b4 it reali goes blank and I would hv lost ALOT of the numbers! Nokia 6288! Going to get it tomorrow!

3rd - New hairstyle! Yes after 8 long years of having long hair, it's time for a change. Back to short hair! Keke..the result is rather satisfying! I like it. Makes me look younger n more energetic cool! Maybe i shld have cut it even shorter???Ha..next time maybe.

Me with short hair!

And of cos, new office (we have moved to One Raffles Quay). What else is new? New attitude towards life maybe? Try to 看开 ( look on the bright side always). Work is nvr-ending so why sloug like hell everyday? But sometimes it's inevitable. So try not to over-work myself.

Well but I'm still the same old me! Nope, no plastic surgery (hmm maybe i shld do an eye-lift, liposuction, face lift...if i have the $$ and the heart to do that to my already beautiful face).

2006 has been a good year for me (been travelling quite a fair bit this year, no $$$) new phase in my work life as well...Hope 2007 will be an even better year for me (well according to my horoscope saggitarus, 2007 will be a great year for my health, work and personal life)

Oh i bought lottery ticket today and it is going to open on 3rd Jan 2007..If only...Please God!! $2mil top prize!!!$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$...That's also a 1st for ME!!!Always blur blur about buying this kinda things (toto, lottery included) 傻人有傻福 Hope it applies to me!

24 Dec - Xmas eve.. What is my program?!?! Cookies baking!!

Yes, it's an annual event. I'm always in the Kitchen baking chocolate chip cookies during this time of the year. And the cookies are critically-acclaimed and guaranteed great tasting (courtesy of countless friends and colleagues).

1.30pm - Start of the dough making process. Courtesy of my Bro, the mixer was spoilt (over heated) hence i had to use blender to mix. As such, i had to split the dough mixture into 4 times to mix. Terrible n tough job. Finally managed to mix everything together. I think I have developed muscles now.

End result of the dough mixing process

Now it's time to place the mixture in the tray n bake them.

Pre-baking mixture

The final product! Wala!

After almost 4 long hours of baking, i have finally completed the BIG project! TIme to pack to individual bags for gift-giving purposes. Yes, these are not for me!!haha

Batam 22-23 Dec 2006

The long awaited trip has finally arrived! Have been looking forward to getting out of SG at least for a few days out of the super long vacation I'm having (Yes, I"m on leave from 22 Dec till next year) So yes, 21st Dec was my official last day of the year 2006!!

6.30am - Wake up to get ready to head to Harbourfront for the morning ferry at 10am. Damn tired but oh well, Batam is near!

1015am (Batam time) - We're all 1 hour younger in Batam! Cos of the time difference. Reached our resort (KTM) in about 10 mins. Erm..what can I say..it's reali a very private n exclusive resort..if u get what I mean. It's really secluded and by the sea. Very rustic look and back to nature. But the view from the resort is magnificent! Overlooking the big ocean shiok! Our resort is on silts along the lagoon bay..quite cool n nice..

Our resorts on stilts

View from our room

11am - Spa time! Imagine enjoying ur massage in a hut with the ocean view! Sea breeze blowing while u are being massaged..1.5hours of greatness!!

Lunch was a non-event.

6pm - Head out for dinner with a family of 4 from SG as well!! had traditional indonesian dinner quite nice.

Went supermarket shopping (my fav activity overseas!!) Booze is damn cheap there and of cos we bought 2 bottles of mix booze (with low alcohol %)

And a great discovery - A&W!! Which is no longer available in SG. Great! How i missed the root beer float! Of cos we had to try those dearly missed drinks!

Dear Mr A&W

23 Dec - Start of our day tour and activities.

1st stop was the waterfront for some sport activities, which we did not try. Later on, it was shopping and more shopping at the local dry market and products. Bought lots of keropoks (fried crackers) and nuts (Yes I'm nuts crazy)

Had a good seafood lunch at the famous 933 GOlden Prawn restaurant and tried the famous avocado drink! After that, it was more shopping. Stop over at the POLO main store and bought 3 Diesel T-shirts at S$17 cheap!

4.15pm (Batam time) - Ferry back to SG. ENd of the trip. which was a relief cos the trip was not as great as we thought it would be. Batam - boring place. oh well...

New Start New Office

New office, open concept
My desk..with my name

Yes, after much anticipation and emails, we have finally moved! To ORQ (One Raffles Quay, in case SOMEONE doesnt know what it means).

Nice office, just nice but very very open concept. Don't like. Everyone can see each other, no privacy at ALL!!! yucks. but at least we have half the sea view. BUT, the tables (or rows) r damn small, walkway too tiny n squeezed. 3 people to 1 section of the row!! What the!!! We are bloody auditors, we need SPACE to put files, papers, documents etc..GIVE US MORE SPACE!!

The Pantry, with nothing in it

Well, we have a nice pantry (just nice nothing much). But, no snacks!! No drinks machine! Come on, u can give us a pantry, why not stock it up!!!

Monday morning chaotic! Everyone trying to orientate themselves, finding their seats, figuring out where the things are, where everyone else is seated. And of cos, waiting for the reception!! Yes FOOD!!! Oh n fixing the bloody computer internet settings. Damn. Managed to work my day away (yes i was busy working the whole day) until i just had to say "OFF I GO"!!

My Tidied-up desk

When i returned home, surprise! My room desk has been tidied up! Oh man, it is so damn clean n tidy! Ha..must be my dear little sister who has nothing better to do. So now i have to question her where my things r put. I always can't find my things when they are tidied up. Messy is my way! ha!

EY DnD 2006

Red Carpet Extravaganza!! Glamour baby Glamour!! All the Armani, Gucci, LV, u name it we've got it! Yes, this is the annual Dinner and Dance event. This year, the theme is Red carpet (yes, a little dugh n not fun at all). Well, people do dress up for such events!! Me? Oh just a simple white tube dress will do. It doesnt matter what u wear, it's the personality that brings out the dress :)

Well it was fun! seeing all ur colleagues bring out their best dress n best faces forward. everyone with full make-up, hairdo done to the max...so glamourous..

Fun night, going around the ballroom taking pictures with colleagues and friends. It is the night where all work related stuffs are thrown out of the window. Yes, even when u see the managers, they don pester u for files or follow up on outstanding. Food wise? It's nvr abt food darling! So no comment on food. Entertainment? Well it was ok. seeing your counterparts on stage performing, dancing and singing to fight for the 1st prize. Kinda furnie, reminds me of my 1st year when i was on stage dancing..At least our group won the 1st prize that year.

The highlight of the night? Lucky draw of course!! Everyone was waiting for the lucky draw, eager to see their names being shown on the screen. Me too! But unfortunately, it did not appear at all throughout the night! Damn it! I so wanted to see my name appear when they were giving out the 1st prize - $5k travel vouchers! That would fulfil my next year's travelling plans!!! But well, what damn luck.

Overall a nice night! Although alot of familiar faces were no longer there (they left the company) it was nice seeing new colleagues and friends as well! Who knows, maybe next year, I will no longer be around as well!
